You’ll hear from us through calls or texts shortly after discharge, and as life moves forward, we’ll check in regularly — offering encouragement, guidance, and reminders that you’re never alone. That might mean sending a quick text on a tough day, checking in around the holidays when cravings or emotions run high, or calling to share resources if you’re looking for local meetings or sober housing. We’re here for you!

Help Finding Local Resources

Alumni Coaches also help you get connected to support in your area, including:

Free meetings like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Narcotics Anonymous (NA), SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma, NAMI, DBSA, and peer mental health groups
Specialized resources like LGBTQ+ or faith-based options
Referrals for therapy, psychiatry, or sober housing

Private Alumni Facebook Group

Stay connected through our exclusive, alumni-only Facebook group. It’s a protected space for conversation, encouragement, and updates on upcoming events — only open to those who’ve received care at Indiana Center for Recovery.

Weekly Virtual Meetings

Every Monday at 8 p.m. (ET), ICFR alumni gather for a virtual support group via Google Meet. These Indiana Center for Recovery alumni-only meetings are safe, supportive spaces where you can check in, share progress, or just listen.  

You can join from anywhere—and participate as much or as little as you like.

Who can join the alumni program?

Anyone who completes intake at Indiana Center for Recovery is automatically part of the alumni community—no matter what type of treatment you received or how long you stayed.

Do I have to attend every meeting or event?

No. The program is flexible. Some people join weekly meetings, others just attend events, and some only check in occasionally. Do what works best for you to ensure you have support.

Are alumni meetings and the Facebook group private?

Yes. Both the virtual meetings and Facebook group are alumni-only and require confirmation that you’ve received care at Indiana Center for Recovery. These are protected spaces where you can connect honestly, safely, and without judgment.

Can I rejoin after a relapse or return to treatment?

Absolutely. Many alumni reconnect during challenging times or after coming back for care. There’s no judgment.

Is the program just for addiction recovery?

No. We support alumni who received care for mental health, substance use, or both. Everyone is welcome.

Can I still participate if I’ve moved away?

Yes. Weekly virtual meetings and alumni check-ins make it easy to stay involved from anywhere. Our alumni coordinators can also connect you to local resources in your area.

Can my family or friends attend events with me?

Yes. Most alumni events are open to supportive family and friends. Rebuilding healthy relationships is an important part of recovery, and we encourage loved ones to take part.

What if I only stayed in treatment for a short time?

You’re still part of the alumni community. As long as you completed intake, you’re welcome — no matter how long you stayed or where your healing led afterward.

How long can I stay involved?

For life. There’s no deadline and no expiration date. Whether you reconnect a week after treatment or ten years later, you’re always welcome.
