Understanding Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Explore the symptoms, causes, and treatments for narcissistic personality disorder with Indiana Center for Recovery.
Adolescence is a pivotal time of growth, self-discovery, and development. It’s the period when young people learn to navigate the complexities of life, find their place in the world, and form their identity. However, the challenges of this phase can quickly become overwhelming for some adolescents, with the pressures of school, social dynamics, and the rapid emotional and physical changes often leading to anxiety, depression, and experimentation with substances as a way to cope.
At the Indiana Center for Recovery, we understand the importance of addressing these issues early on to prevent long-term harm. This is why we have created an adolescent program that is designed specifically for individuals between the ages of 12 and 17 who are struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. Our mission is to provide a safe, structured, and supportive environment where adolescents can begin their journey to recovery and personal growth.
Whether your child is grappling with substance use, mental health issues, or co-occurring conditions, our program is uniquely positioned to meet them where they are and guide them toward a healthier and more fulfilling life.
ICFR-Adolescent is a specialized program offered by Indiana Center for Recovery that caters to the substance abuse and mental health needs of both male and female adolescents. Recognizing that no two individuals are alike, our treatment is highly individualized, focusing on evidence-based approaches that help adolescents build the skills they need to make better choices and lead healthier lives. Our program offers a variety of personalized evidence-based treatments that all play a role in helping adolescents reach recovery and is established for both short-term and long-term stays.
Adolescents in this program are monitored 24 hours a day by our professionally trained staff, with a 1 to 4 mental health tech ratio on the floor throughout the adolescent’s waking hours. This ratio allows our staff to fully monitor and support each individual throughout their recovery.
We understand that every individual is unique, with their own set of experiences, challenges, and goals. That’s why we are dedicated to providing personalized care for each individual in our program. From the moment they arrive, we take the time to thoroughly assess their needs and craft a treatment plan that is tailored specifically to them. This personalized approach ensures that every adolescent receives the exact support, interventions, and guidance that will be most effective for their recovery journey.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely used and effective form of therapy that helps adolescents identify and change negative thought patterns that contribute to harmful behaviors. Through CBT, adolescents learn how their thoughts affect their feelings and actions, and they are guided to reframe those thoughts to promote better decision-making. By utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, we can equip adolescents with the tools to manage stress, anxiety, and triggers that can lead to substance use or emotional outbursts.
In our group therapy sessions, participants engage in meaningful discussions that promote personal insight and collective healing. Our group therapy curriculum is diverse, covering various therapeutic topics and methodologies designed to address the multifaceted needs of adolescents.
