Dr. Michael Kane is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 35 years of experience treating mental health and substance use disorders. He completed his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Psychiatry (1991) and Family Medicine (2000). For 20 years, he held dual board certification in both fields and now maintains certification exclusively in Psychiatry, aligning with his focus on behavioral health and addiction medicine.

As Chief Medical Officer of Indiana Center for Recovery, Dr. Kane oversees medical strategy and clinical operations across ten treatment facilities, leading the organization’s expansion from a single location to ten in just four years. His leadership has helped position the Center as one of the fastest-growing, most trusted providers of evidence-based behavioral healthcare in the Midwest. Under his direction, the organization has recorded more than 7,200+ alumni success stories—reflecting its reach and long-term impact.

Under Dr. Kane’s guidance, the organization has earned Joint Commission Accreditation and certification from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), affirming a deep commitment to clinical quality and patient safety.
