Dr. Michael Kane, MD, ABPN

Dr. Michael Kane is a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 35 years of experience in treating mental health and substance use disorders. As Chief Medical Officer at Indiana Center for Recovery, he leads clinical strategy and care delivery across ten treatment facilities, with a focus on integrated, evidence-based psychiatric and addiction medicine.

Dr. Kane completed his medical training at Indiana University School of Medicine and pursued residency training in both Psychiatry (1991) and Family Medicine (2000). He was dual-board certified in Psychiatry and Family Medicine for 20 years but now maintains board certification exclusively in Psychiatry, aligning with his current specialty in behavioral health.

At Indiana Center for Recovery, Dr. Kane has contributed significantly to achieving Joint Commission Accreditation and to the organization’s repeated recognition by Newsweek as one of “America’s Best Treatment Centers.” His leadership is grounded in decades of hands-on clinical experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
